Koh Yao Yai has 4 main piers which regularly offer boat services to the public.
Khlong Hia and Chong Lad at the north of the island facing Koh Yao Noi across the water.
Laem Yai and Loh Jark, both on the west coast of the island—Laem Yai is roughly in the centre, Loh Jark towards the south.
From these piers there are a variety of services to both the east (for Krabi, Phi Phi island) and the west (for Phuket).
Getting to Koh Yao Yai
FROM PHUKET:
1.Bang Rong pier (close to Airport) to Klong Hia Pier:
– Speedboats depart from 7.30 every hour till 17.30
2. Laem Hin pier (close to Phuket Town) to Laem Yai Pier:
– One car ferry a day at 13:30.
3. Chianwanich pier (Phuket town) to Loh Jark Pier:
– Local ferry leaves at 08:30, 14:00 and a speedboat at every hour.
Get out in Koh Yao Yai approx. takes 1 hour. Then you just need to take a taxi to Yao Yai Beach Resort approx. 15-45 min. depending on the pier of arrival.
FROM KRABI:
1.Ao Tha Len pier to Chong Lad Pier:
– Everyday every hour.
2. Nopparat Thara Pier to Klong Hia Pier:
– One speedboat at 11:00.
FROM PHI PHI ISLAND:
– everyday twice a day.
Get out in Koh Yao Yai approx. takes 1 hour. Then you just need to take a taxi to Yao Yai Beach Resort approx. 15-45 min. depending on the pier of arrival.
